The Greater Victoria Police Pipe Band runs a junior band program throughout the school year. Instruction is offered to youth aged 9 to 16 in basic music theory and the skills needed to play the highland bagpipe and Scottish snare drum. Participants also learn co-operation and listening skills in a team environment.
Police Pipe Band instructors, Pipe Sergeant Warren Fells and Drum Sergeant Colin Magee have many years of performance and teaching experience and are the instructors for the junior band program.
Youth and/or parents interested in registering their children for the program should contact one of the instructors for more information.
